This is a guidance document for UNFPA country offices as well as program managers in ministries of health and partner agencies that are developing or updating cervical cancer prevention and control programs. The document advocates for comprehensive strategies that include prevention with human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination for young girls, screening and treatment for women diagnosed with precancerous lesions, and treatment and palliative care for women with invasive cervical cancer.

This document is the product of a collaborative effort to share information and experience and develop program guidance based on lessons learned. Program managers from ministries of health and UNFPA country offices from seventeen countries as well as technical experts from seven partner agencies were consulted in the course of this publication's development.
